The dance programme showcases South African township dance culture and how it has been shaped by our historical past.
The Pantsula dance culture is deeply rooted in our history and has been used as a form of resistance and expression during the forced removals of the 50s and 60s. The festival partners with Madamo, who recently made his debut in the Netflix drama series, Tjovitjo, to bring us world class choreography in a new dance production, performed at the iconic Number 4 Prison.
The dance programme will include both live & online performances. The on-site live event on the 20th November 2020 features a dance battle!
